Abstract: There are many challenges that are unique to informal education, or Free Choice learning, that formal education environments need not address. A main factor for audiences in these spaces is that the patrons of the learning experience are actively choosing to participate in the education experience; what is motivating the individuals to seek out these experiences and how do these motivations impact their experience? In this talk we will discuss Free-Choice Learning and the identity motivators of the patrons of these experiences.
