Maggie is a Research Associate whose years of direct work with students in both informal and formal settings inspire her to center students’ voices and visions of education transformation in her research and evaluation work. She manages research and evaluation projects funded by federal and state grants as well as foundations. Prior to joining Rockman, Maggie taught high school students in the United States and South Korea, where she was supported by a Fulbright grant. While pursuing her master’s at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, she collaborated with high school student activists in the Massachusetts Department of Education’s Safe Schools Program for LGBTQ Students on a critical participatory action research project to illuminate students’ experiences with gender neutral bathrooms and encourage school culture change. Maggie has experience conducting formative and summative evaluations for STEM programs as well as providing consultation to nonprofits and public and private schools related to adolescent development and health literacy. When she is not working, you can find Maggie cooking food to share with friends and family, reading alongside her cat, or sketching out thoughts in her journal.
