William H. Waller (Bill) is an astronomer, science educator and communicator based in Rockport, Massachusetts. His research focus is exploring the causes and consequences of starburst activity in nearby galaxies. He has worked with NASA on several space science research missions and educational outreach programs. He continues to teach and mentor students in both high-school and collegiate settings, most recently at Endicott College. Bill is co-author of "Galaxies and the Cosmic Frontier," author of "The Milky Way -- An Insider's Guide," "Astronomy: A Beginner's Guide," as well as his newest book "An Earthling’s Guide to the Solar System." He is the founder and producer of "Doc Waller's Earth & Space Reports," a monthly video series featuring presentations by Earth & space scientists and educators, as well as founder and co-editor of "The Galactic Inquirer," a free online journal on diverse astronomical topics. He currently serves as one of six National Astronomy Education Coordinators representing the United States for the International Astronomical Union's Office of Astronomy for Education (http://naec-us.org). This team of volunteers spans a wide variety of educational and professional backgrounds in support of advancing astronomy education within the United States and beyond.
