Art Borja, a dedicated educator with over two decades of experience, holds a BS in Biology from Tulane University ('87), an MS in Psychobiology and Cognitive Neuroscience from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona ('10), an MS in Space Science, an MS in Astrophysics and Astronomy, and an MPH from American Military University ('21). He will start a PhD in Health Sciences in the Fall at the University of South Dakota. Art is currently affiliated with Bayer School in Glendale, Arizona. Art has passionately taught a spectrum of middle and high school science courses including HS biology, life science, anatomy and physiology, chemistry, intro to astronomy, and Earth and Space Science.
With a profound interest in Earth and space sciences, public health and epidemiology, Art is committed to integrating these crucial subjects into his classroom curriculum. Understanding the pivotal role of education in fostering informed and proactive communities, Art aims to empower his students with the knowledge and skills necessary to comprehend, analyze, and respond to health-related challenges effectively. His decision to incorporate astronomy, epidemiology and public health into the classroom stems from a belief in the importance of equipping young minds with the tools to navigate and contribute to the well-being of society.
Beyond his teaching endeavors, Art works as a Nurse Extern in the neurology unit at Deer Valley Honor Health hospital and serves as the glycemic control group co-chair. He also serves as a NASA JPL Solar System Ambassador. He can be reach
