Matthew Wenger is an education program manager with Steward Observatory at The University of Arizona. He has developed and currently oversees three ongoing Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on Coursera about Introductory Astronomy, Astrobiology, and The History and Philosophy of Astronomy. He conducts education research on teaching and learning in online learning environments and was a CO-I on the NSF grant: A Machine Learning Approach to Improve Students Scientific Reasoning and Writing. Matthew manages a team that develops and teaches undergraduate level astronomy classes, online classes, and videos for the YouTube channels: Teach Astronomy, Active Galactic Videos, and Astronomy: Exploring Time and Space. Matthew previously worked at Adler Planetarium and Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium and has expertise in informal science education and free-choice learning.
