Abstract: NITARP, the NASA/IPAC Teacher Archive Research Program (https://nitarp.ipac.caltech.edu/), gets educators involved in authentic astronomical research. We partner small groups of educators with a professional astronomer mentor for a year-long original research project. The teams echo the entire research process, from writing a proposal, to doing the research, to presenting the results at an American Astronomical Society (AAS) meeting. The program runs from January through January. Applications are available annually in May and are due in September; they are available now for 2025. Our educator participants are largely but not exclusively high school classroom teachers. While many educator participants incorporate NITARP content into their regular classes, many incorporate NITARP content in more informal education settings, such as after school or lunchtime clubs, or planetarium/museum settings. This 10-minute presentation will provide an overview of the NITARP program.
